Technical Committee 339 "Safety of raw materials, materials and substances" has informed that the draft interstate standards implementing the provisions of the UN-GHS Recommendations (Globally Harmonized System of Hazard Classification and Labelling of Chemical Products) are sent to the vote in the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification.
The following standards are to be voted on:
- GOST 30333 Safety data sheets for chemical products. General requirements;
- GOST 32419 Classification of hazardous chemicals. General requirements; and
- GOST 31340 Precautionary labelling of chemical products. General requirements.
The revision of the standards is aimed at harmonizing the standards with the requirements of the Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Union "On the safety of chemical products" (TR EAEU 041/2017) (also called “Russian REACH” or “EurAsia REACH”) and the 7th edition of the UN-GHS Recommendations (ST/SG/AC.10/30/rev.7).
The final editions take into account the changes agreed during the meeting of TC 339 members that was held on March 31, 2021.
