Facilities that handle radioactive wastes are required to comply with the adopted regulation on the safe management of radioactive wastes. The procedure regulates all stages of radioactive waste handling, up to the point of their landfill.
This regulation is also recommended for facilities that use and manufacture ionizing radiation sources as well as facilities performing activities involving construction, planning, assembly and other works for organisations handling radioactive wastes.
The regulation requires organisations handling radioactive wastes to submit reports to the competent authority on the results of all activities involving radioactive waste management.
