Russia: Identification marking experiment for certain electronics, machinery and children’s goods

The Government has decided to conduct an experiment on marking certain types of goods with identification signs. The experiment is to be conducted from 1 July 2019 to 31 December 2019.  The goods that are in scope of the experiment include: refrigerators and freezers; industrial transport means; forklift loaders and cargo trolleys; domestic and commercial washing machines; textile ironing, rinsing and cleaning equipment; monitors and projectors of certain types; buggies; child car seats; and electrical circuit boards.

The purpose of the experiment is to test the available technical means that may be used for identification marking of the named goods. The purpose of the subsequent mandatory identification marking of these products is to prevent counterfeit and unlawful goods from circulating on the market and to ensure traceability of each product along the supply chain in the Russian Federation.

Participants of the goods circulation market (i.e. manufacturers, importers and distributors) can voluntary participate in the experiment. In order to participate in the experiment, they are required to complete an application form based on the Methodical Recommendations and the relevant procedure which are adopted separately.
