Decree No. 269 of 30 June 2023 postponed the date as of which all sparkling and still water as well as refreshment drinks are to be labelled with mandatory digital labelling in Uzbekistan.
It was initially intended to introduce this requirement as of 1 July 2023 for some categories of drinks but has been postponed to 1 March 2024 (the first group of drinks).
Manufacturers and importers of medical devices and medicines are to be required to provide electronic labelling for their products sold or imported into Uzbekistan. This requirement has been set by Decree adopted in April 2022.
Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan dated April 2022 No. 149 “On the introduction of a system of mandatory digital labelling of medicines and medical devices” was adopted.
Starting from 1 January 2021, Uzbekistan is implementing mandatory identification marking for certain groups of products.
The adopted Decree establishes how manufacturers and importers are responsible for the labelling of products subject to digital marking.
As of 1 December 2019, Uzbekistan has commenced a pilot project on implementing identification marking for alcoholic drinks and cigarettes. Local manufacturers and importers can voluntary participate in the experiment.
The results of the experiment will be submitted to the Government before 30 June 2020.
