Registration of a Conformity Declaration of the Customs Union

conformity declaration of the Customs Union, which is to be  issued by the product manufacturer, seller or a representative of a foreign manufacturer, in accordance with the requirements adopted by Decision No. 293 of the Euro-Asian Economic Commission Collegiate of 25 December 2012, must be registered in the Common Registry of Issued Conformity Certificates and Conformity Declarations.

Importing and handling of alcohol containing cosmetic products in Russia

Since almost all perfumery and a significant part of cosmetics contain ethylene alcohol, these products are considered “alcohol-containing non-food products” in Russia. This means that export of perfumery and cosmetics to Russia is subject to a special set of requirements.

About the Customs Union

The Customs Union (CU) of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan was founded by the Treaty of 6 October 2007 but actually came into its official existence on 1 January 2010 when the new common customs tariff and non-tariff regulations were adopted by the three states. The Customs Code of the Customs Union entered into force on 1 July 2010 regulating the newly created unified customs zone.

The supreme bodies of the Customs Union are the Inter-State Councils at the governmental level.
