Uzbekistan: Adopted Technical Regulation on the Safety of Tobacco Products

As of 1 January 2025, importers and manufacturers of tobacco products in Uzbekistan are required to comply with the adopted Technical Regulation (TR) on the Safety of Tobacco Products in Uzbekistan. The adopted TR applies to tobacco products and devices intended to consume tobacco or nicotine.

The adopted Technical Regulation on the Safety of Tobacco Products does not apply for products that are:

- Intended for export or transit;

Kyrgyzstan has revised its framework regulation on mandatory identification marking (labelling) of certain product categories.

Market operators, such as producers and importers must mark all products that are subject to mandatory labelling, with identification marking.

Kazakhstan: Revised list of products subject to mandatory identification marking

As of 2 September 2021, the list of products subject to the mandatory identification marking in Kazakhstan has been revised.

The revised list mainly includes footwear and tobacco products.

Russia: Experiment on mandatory ID marking of nicotine-containing products

From 1 January 2021 until 28 February 2022 Russia is to conduct an experiment of labelling nicotine-containing products with ID marking (identification marking). The following products are to be subject to the experiment:
