Georgia: Adopted requirements on the placement of health and safety signs at workplaces

As of 1 January 2023, employers are required to comply with the minimum requirements on the installation of health and safety signs at workplaces.

The adopted Regulation applies to all workplaces except for:

a) warning signs placed on hazardous substances, hazardous compounds, products and/or equipment/equipment on the market, unless otherwise provided for by the legislation of Georgia;

b) signs used to regulate road, rail, inland waterways, sea, or air transport.

Depending on the specifics of the work, taking into account the risk level at a particular facility, employers may implement requirements that are stricter than those imposed by the adopted Regulation and / or to place additional signs related to safety and/or health protection.

The employer is obliged to provide information to the employees and/or their representatives and instruct them regarding the safety and/or health protection signs to be used in the workplace.
