Kazakhstan: Adopted rules for maintaining the Registry of Prohibited Substances

As of 20 December 2020, the revised rules for maintaining the Kazakhstan Registry of Prohibited Substances start to apply.

The Rules provide that the competent authority responsible for creating and maintaining the Registry is the "Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

The Registry is to contain chemical and biological substances the use, manufacture, import and export of which is not allowed in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

A substance is to be entered into the Registry by the competent authority based on the information presented by research and scientific organisations. The competent authority is to review the submitted information and to take a decision on whether to include a particular substance into the Registry.

The Registry is to be published online and to be updated every quarter.
