Moldova: National mark of conformity for radio equipment not required when the CE mark is already present

The amendment to the Technical Regulation on the Presence of Radio Equipment on the Market of Moldova clarifies that if the CE mark is present on radio equipment, then it is not required to place the Moldovan national mark of conformity – the SM mark.

The TR on the Presence of Radio Equipment on the Market of Moldova was adopted by Decree No. 34 of 30 January 2019 and entered into force 22 February 2021. It was drafted taking into consideration the provisions of the EU Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EC. It sets out main safety requirements for radio equipment and for the conformity assessment procedure applicable to radio equipment. Its provisions are similar or identical to the EU RED provisions, including the requirement to provide a simplified DoC accompanying each unit of radio equipment placed on the market.
