Uzbekistan has ratified Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants

Stockholm Convention (the POPs Convention) is an international treaty that sets out a set of measures aimed at restriction or prohibition of POPs emissions as a result of their intentional or non-intentional use. The aim of the treaty is to protect human health and the environment from the negative impact of persistent organic pollutants. 

The Head of State of Uzbekistan has signed the Law dated 8 May 2019 No. ZRU-353 that ratifies the Convention. The Law sets out that any amendment to Annex A, B or C will enter into force for Uzbekistan only after the document on ratification, adoption or approval of such an amendment or on accession to this amendment has been submitted.
